CHRISTMAS

(Christ mass)

"And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in cloths and placed him
in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn."

LUKE 2:7

ORIGINS

Christmas is a traditional celebration held annually. This festival commemorates the birth of baby Jesus. Christmas is the second party in order of importance of all Christian holidays. The most important is that of Easter. Since the gospels do not provide precise dates, no one knows the exact date of Jesus' birth. According to the gospels of Luke and Matthew, Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
They spent 345 years since the birth of Jesus until Christmas was officially recognized by the Catholic Church, is very likely that the popes elected on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus in order that the faithful departed from the pagan celebrations of winter solstice.
